The Art In Giving
What can make one’s birthday more meaningful than to celebrate it with the less fortunate ones? Sounds Good !!Yayyy !!! Well , indeed it was my first initiative……….. but the happiness and joy which I felt from within was tremendous . Celebrated my joyous with 130 childern’s from Orphanage by providing them whole day meal. In turn, I received lot of blessings and literally tears roll down my cheeks when they together …….loudly n clearly sang “Happy Birthday” theme song for me. It really touched my SOUL. A truly wonderful idea of sharing by my husband on my birthday and what more can a wife ask for!!! Have grown always seeing my father helping the needy kids sometimes by giving them notebooks so that they can read and write or sometimes by providing meal . I am proud of him and today indeed he felt proud of me. Proud Moment for any daughter:-)
Giving is one of the best investments you can make towards achieving genuine happiness. True giving comes from the heart, with no expectation of reciprocation. You’ll find that the more you give, the more you’ll receive. If you find yourself feeling unhappy, try making someone else happy and see what happens. If you’re feeling empty and unfulfilled, try doing some meaningful and worthwhile work and see how you feel. The catch is that you must do this work with passion and enthusiasm. When we give, we reap the joy of seeing a bright smile, laughter, tears of joy and gratitude for life.
The rewards of giving are priceless. If you want to have happiness, you need to give happiness. If you want love, you need to give love. If you want appreciation , you need to learn to appreciate others. These are some of life’s most precious gifts and they don’t cost you anything. It is only in giving that you receive. No matter what your circumstances in life, you have the ability to give. The intention behind your giving is the most important thing. The intention should always be to create happiness for both the giver and the receiver.
When you meet someone, you can silently send them a blessing, wishing them happiness, joy and laughter. This kind of silent giving is very powerful. Do this, (with no thought of return) and you will suddenly find people around you opening to you in joy and happiness.
Your life is like a river of energy, continually flowing. What happens when a river stops moving? It get very muddy, and stagnant. A fast flowing river is full of life and clear water. Where would you rather drink?
The acts of giving and receiving are a continuous process of circulation that continues the flow of your life’s energies. For one person to receive someone else has to give. It’s a cycle of energy that flows continually onwards.
Pause for as moment as you read this, and take a big, deep breath. Hold it for as long as you possibly can. As you hold it inside, notice how uncomfortable you begin to feel when you are holding on to something that is meant to be released.
Now, breath out, completely and hold your breath with your lungs fully emptied. Feel how uncomfortable you feel when you are resisting taking in something that you need.
Isn’t there plenty of LOVE in your heart to share it with those you care about; isn’t there a smile on your lips to offer to those who presently think they’ve got none? There are so many things we can all offer to those around us and believe it or not many of these things are free. If you have material things you would like to give away to those who have less than you do, give it and if you feel like you don’t have any material possession to offer, give them your time, your knowledge, your love and support and many of the things you have that cost you nothing but they value a lot. Just a small initiative if each one of us start sharing what they have excess with them, then this world would be better place to LIVE!!!
The world is upside down! Count your blessings!! They are endless. I encourage you to bless someone today, and that you would be blessed with the true joy of giving! The gift of joy will come to you when you give of yourself to others. That’s what life is all about. Let’s practice and commit our lives to giving joy. Try it! It works!
